How to Install IPTV on Smart TV (2026 Guide)

This guide shows how to watch WorldIPTV directly on a Smart TV without an external box: Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) and Hisense (VIDAA). Sony, Philips and TCL sets running Android TV or Google TV should follow the Android guide. Plan for 10 to 15 minutes, a little more for MAC-based apps because you upload the playlist from a phone or computer. You need your WorldIPTV credentials: the M3U link, or the Xtream server URL, username and password from your welcome email or the 24-hour free trial.

Before you start

• Bandwidth: 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K. Most TVs have a built-in speed test in the network settings.
• Connection: Ethernet cable if possible, otherwise 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Smart TV Wi-Fi chips are weak; 2.4 GHz is the main cause of freezing.
• Credentials: MAC-based apps (IBO Player, Smart IPTV, Net IPTV) need the M3U link; IPTV Smarters Pro accepts Xtream Codes. Both are listed on your playlists page.
• TV firmware: update in Settings > Support > Software Update (Samsung) or Settings > All Settings > Support > Software Update (LG).
• A second device (phone or computer) to open the activation page for MAC-based apps.

Method 1: IBO Player

IBO Player is available on Samsung, LG and most VIDAA sets, has a modern interface, and supports catch-up and multiple playlists. It is activated per TV using the MAC address shown on screen.

1. Samsung: press the Home button, open Apps, select the search icon, type IBO Player and select Install. LG: press Home, open the LG Content Store, search IBO Player and select Install.
2. Open the app. The first screen shows your MAC address and a Device key. Write both down exactly.
3. On your phone or computer, open the activation page linked in the app.
4. Enter the MAC address and Device key, then paste your WorldIPTV M3U link in the playlist URL field and give it a name (e.g. WorldIPTV). If there is a separate EPG URL field, paste the XMLTV link from your playlists page.
5. Save. Back on the TV, select Reload or restart the app. Channels, movies and series appear within a minute.

IBO Player includes a free trial period, then a one-time activation fee per TV paid to the app developer, not to WorldIPTV.

Method 2: Smart IPTV (SIPTV)

Smart IPTV is the long-standing app for Samsung and LG. It is purely a player: you upload your playlist once through the activation website and the TV downloads it.

1. Install Smart IPTV from the Samsung Apps store or the LG Content Store as in Method 1.
2. Open the app and note the MAC address displayed in the top corner.
3. Open the activation page linked in the app on another device.
4. In the upload form, enter the MAC address, paste your M3U link in the URL field, tick the Keep online option if you want the playlist updated automatically, and submit. Solve the captcha if asked.
5. Restart the app on the TV. Press the Blue button on the remote for groups, Yellow for the EPG. Press OK to switch between the channel list and full screen.

Smart IPTV is free for a trial period, then charges a small one-time activation fee per MAC.

Method 3: IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro is free and lets you log in with Xtream Codes directly on the TV, so there is no MAC activation and no upload step. It is available in the Samsung and LG stores in most regions.

1. Search IPTV Smarters in the Samsung Apps store or LG Content Store and install it.
2. Open the app, accept the terms and select Add User.
3. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
4. Fill in Any name (e.g. WorldIPTV), Username, Password and http://server-url (the exact URL with port from your email). Type carefully; a single space breaks the login.
5. Select Add User. Live TV, Movies and Series load automatically.

If you prefer M3U, select Load Your Playlist or File/URL, enter a name, choose URL, paste the link and confirm.

Method 4: Net IPTV

Net IPTV is a lightweight alternative to Smart IPTV with the same activation model and good support for older TVs.

1. Install Net IPTV from the TV app store.
2. Open it and note the MAC address on the welcome screen.
3. On a second device, open the activation page linked in the app, enter the MAC address, paste your M3U link and submit.
4. Restart the app on the TV. Use the coloured buttons on the remote to switch groups and open the guide.

Add the EPG (TV guide)

• IPTV Smarters Pro: open Settings > EPG Settings, ensure EPG is enabled, then select Install EPG (or Refresh EPG from the home screen). Adjust Time shift if programme times are off.
• IBO Player: if you pasted the EPG URL during activation, the guide loads automatically. Otherwise open Settings > EPG in the app, add the XMLTV URL, and select Update.
• Smart IPTV / Net IPTV: the EPG is read from the playlist itself. WorldIPTV's M3U includes the url-tvg reference, so the guide appears after the second launch. Press Yellow (Smart IPTV) to see it. If it is empty, upload the playlist again and wait 24 hours for the next scheduled EPG fetch.

Tips for the best quality

• Choose HD streams rather than 4K on TVs older than 2019; their decoders struggle with 4K HEVC even if the panel is 4K.
• Plug in an Ethernet cable. Smart TV Wi-Fi antennas sit behind a metal chassis and lose signal easily.
• Set the TV's picture mode to Cinema/Movie and turn off motion smoothing to avoid judder on sports.
• In IPTV Smarters Pro, select Settings > Player Settings > Native player for the smoothest playback on Tizen and webOS.
• Power-cycle the TV weekly (unplug for 30 seconds) to clear memory leaks that cause freezes.
• Keep only one active playlist per app to avoid hitting your connection limit.
