This guide covers WorldIPTV on every Android device: phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV sets, NVIDIA Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV and Formuler or generic Android boxes. In about 10 minutes you will have live TV, VOD and a working EPG. You need your WorldIPTV credentials: the Xtream server URL, username and password (or the M3U link) from your welcome email, or from the 24-hour free trial, which is sent instantly and needs no card.

Before you start

  • Bandwidth: 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K. Test the speed on the device itself.
  • Connection: Ethernet for TV boxes, 5 GHz Wi-Fi for phones and tablets. Avoid 2.4 GHz.
  • Credentials: Xtream server URL (with port), username and password, or the M3U link. See playlists if you are unsure which to use.
  • Android version: Android 7 or newer for all four apps. Update the system in Settings > System > System update (TV) or Settings > System > Software update (phone).
  • Google account: signed in to Google Play. On a box without Play Services, you can install the APK files instead (see Method 2).

Method 1: TiviMate

TiviMate is the best player for Android TV, Google TV and the Shield: a live grid with programme previews, catch-up, recording, multi-view and picture-in-picture. It is designed for a remote, so we recommend the free IPTV Smarters Pro on phones instead. The premium unlock is paid; the free version is enough to test.

  1. Open Google Play on your TV or box, search for TiviMate IPTV Player and select Install.
  2. Open TiviMate and select Add playlist.
  3. Choose Xtream Codes login.
  4. Enter Server address (your full Xtream URL, including the port), Username and Password, then Next.
  5. Name the playlist (e.g. WorldIPTV) and select Next. TiviMate loads the channels and starts downloading the EPG.
  6. Press Back. The channel groups appear on the left, channels in the middle and the guide on the right.
  7. Optional: go to Settings > Playlists > WorldIPTV > Manage groups to hide countries you do not watch.

Prefer M3U? Select M3U playlist in step 3, paste the URL, and add the EPG URL in Settings > EPG > Add source.

Method 2: IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro is free, works on phones, tablets and TV boxes, and supports both Xtream Codes and M3U. On phones it has a touch interface with a picture-in-picture mode.

  1. Install IPTV Smarters Pro from Google Play. If it is not available in your region or on your box, download the APK using the link in your welcome email, open it and accept the Install unknown apps prompt for your browser or file manager.
  2. Open the app and accept the terms.
  3. Tap Add User, then Login with Xtream Codes API.
  4. Fill in Any name (e.g. WorldIPTV), Username, Password and http://server-url (paste the exact server URL with port).
  5. Tap Add User. The app loads Live TV, Movies and Series.
  6. On phones, tap Settings > Player Settings and enable Picture-in-Picture so you can keep watching while using other apps.

For M3U, tap Load Your Playlist or File/URL in step 3, enter Any name, choose URL, paste the M3U link and tap Add User.

Method 3: XCIPTV

XCIPTV is free, uses ExoPlayer for excellent 4K and HEVC playback, and runs equally well on a phone or an Android TV.

  1. Install XCIPTV Player from Google Play.
  2. Open it and choose Xtream Codes API on the welcome screen.
  3. Enter Username, Password and Server URL (with port), then select Log In.
  4. Open Settings > Player and set the decoder to ExoPlayer, Hardware mode.
  5. Optional: Settings > EPG lets you set the EPG refresh interval; every 12 hours is enough.

Method 4: OTT Navigator

OTT Navigator is a free, very configurable player popular on Android boxes. It supports Xtream Codes and M3U, catch-up and multiple EPG sources.

  1. Install OTT Navigator IPTV from Google Play.
  2. Open the app, select Settings (gear icon), then Providers > Add provider.
  3. Choose Xtream Codes as the provider type.
  4. Enter Server (your Xtream URL with port), Login (username) and Password, then confirm.
  5. Set the provider name to WorldIPTV and select OK. Channels load automatically.
  6. Under Settings > Player, choose Hardware decoder and set Buffer to medium.

Add the EPG (TV guide)

With Xtream Codes, WorldIPTV sends the EPG automatically. In TiviMate, the guide appears once the download in step 5 completes; to refresh, go to Settings > EPG > Update EPG now. Set EPG update interval to 12 or 24 hours.

In IPTV Smarters Pro, open Settings > EPG Settings, make sure EPG is on, then select Install EPG (or the Refresh EPG button on the home screen). If programme times are off, adjust Time shift in the same menu.

For M3U playlists in any app, paste the XMLTV EPG URL from your playlists page into the app's EPG URL or EPG source field.

Tips for the best quality

  • Choose the hardware decoder in every app; software decoding overheats phones and stutters on 4K.
  • Set the buffer size to medium or large on Wi-Fi connections (TiviMate: Settings > Player > Buffer size).
  • Play 4K streams only on capable hardware: NVIDIA Shield, Chromecast with Google TV 4K, Formuler Z-series and 4K Android TV sets. Older Mi Box and cheap boxes should stay on FHD.
  • Use Ethernet on TV boxes. On the Chromecast with Google TV, a USB-C Ethernet adapter fixes almost all buffering.
  • On phones, disable battery optimisation for the IPTV app (Settings > Apps > IPTV app > Battery) so streams do not drop in the background.
  • Keep Google Play Services and the app updated. See best IPTV players for Android in 2026 for a deeper comparison.
